Danvers State Hospital - Danvers, MA

It was a nice day out, warm, sunny and we had the whole day off. Where should we go? Danvers, of course. We parked and walked up the hill staying behind the guard who never looked back. We walked around the grounds for awhile before we began to check out some of the buildings. Eventually we lost track of the guard after being in one building for an hour or two and he found us as we went to another building. I've heard how mean these guys are, and they have dogs and machine guns . . this guard was some little old immigrant speaking broken english. We told him we were only taking pictures and he gave us a ride back to our car. It was getting dark so we decided to come back another time and finish our work.

It seems Danvers is a wildlife refuge. We saw Turkey, squirrel, rabbits and even a couple deer. If you decide to visit make sure you look out for the animals who make this their home.
